History -
The Gloria M. Silverio Foundation, a Florida- based, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, established “A Safe Haven for Newborns” in 2001 in response to a great need in our State for public education and other resources to address the tragic issues of infant abandonment.

A Safe Haven for Newborns is championing a statewide effort, conducting public awareness campaigns and providing resources to support the surrendered-infant (“Safe Haven”) law, and has “partnered” with community organizations, both public and private, throughout the 67 counties in Florida. The partnership effort has resulted in many newborns being saved from the dangers of abandonment.
