Anyone contacting the Hospital can adopt the Newborn.
What actually happens after a newborn is ready to be discharged from the hospital under the "Safe Haven" program ?

As the law states: the hospital shall contact a local licensed child placing agency, after the newborn has been examined, for the purposes of transferring physical custody of the newborn.
The baby is placed in foster care with the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
