Upon the occurence of a “Safe Haven” infant event (admitted to or born at a hospital), the hospital shall immediately contact a licensed adoption agency,ON AN EQUITABLE BASIS, from a list compiled and maintained by Florida's Adoption Information Center (1-800-96ADOPT) for the purpose of transferring physical custody of the newborn to that licensed child placement agency.

This “Safe Haven” event is to be followed up with a written report as per the hospital’s current policy.
 
Note: The list includes licensed child placement agencies that are willing and able to receive a “Safe Haven” baby in the State of Florida. It is also available upon completion of this test or at our web site under adoptions.
